The file format .ses is a general format for session files for the different programs that are associated of using it. These session files in the .ses format are characterized as marker files which indicate a temporary project file and define the portion of last modification or application of procedures. The .ses file extension also denotes the different subcomponents being used for the existing project loaded in an application.
One such use is with the Audition application by Adobe systems, which is typically a digital audio editor that allows users to manually manipulate the sound tracks that are embedded in audio file formats. The .ses file extension is used as a temporarily saved project file for the said application. It functions as a marker file and similarly to an index listing file as it links the project files metadata in raw digital format. These .ses files are not capable of audio playback yet, but have to be saved in the supported audio playback formats such as MP3, WMA, and the like.
Another program using the session file .ses is the Host Access Utility program, which allows users to define the appearance and general features of applications running in the system by adding automation and functionality features. Among these features are graphical user interface modifications for appearances, mouse support capabilities, active-x control integration, and many more.
This configuration setting is stored in a .ses file format and is accessed by the Host Access application each time a certain program associated with it is run. Also, these files are accessible and open for editing with a normal text editor, adding versatility. For each program configured with the Host Access program, a separate .ses file extension is saved for customized settings for the different programs. This then creates an added spice to the interactive process and user convenience when accessing the system.

"I manage a community newsletter, and my writers would always send me strange files I couldn't open. One got fed up and got me FileCure. Well – it worked. Nice program!"
