File Extension SEA

What is a Compressed File?

A self-extracting compressed Macintosh archive file employs The SEA extension. The program that utilizes the SEA file extension is used to compress and build an archive for the Compact Pro, Disk Doubler, and the Stufflit formats, where the latter is the most commonly used.

The primary Macintosh self-extracting compressed file is an initial high-end computer format used in a GUI that is associated with Macintosh software. It uses a unified desktop concept for easy computer and human interaction, describing real-world entities such as a trashcan and documents on the display monitor. The SEA files originated from the mid-1980s and were originally .pit files and later renamed to .sea files in the late 1990s, which was maintained until the present. When the Apple Computer Company introduced the Mac OS X, the SEA files contained information on the self-extraction user interface. The most current adaptation of the SEA file is to minimize the usage of the Macintosh memory. In addition to the compressed files, all of the latest Macs are packaged with an assortment of Apple-created functions, which include iTunes, iLife, and the Safari web browser.

The SEA file extension offers the advantage of a near-absence of spyware and malware that affect Microsoft Windows users. Some Mac users noted some viruses and worms and this caused some business analysts and companies of anti-viruses to issue warnings that Apple's Mac OS X and its files are not resistant to viruses. Nevertheless, there has not been an occurrence of Mac viruses, and Apple regularly issues safety updates for its software. The substantial processing of compressed files via self-extraction has its own memory requirements but the archives created are of easy to use.
